Wishing it all away...

If you are anything like me, enough is never enough.

Let me explain.

Summer is a great example. We start getting the warmer weather, and it starts inching up into the 30's, and all of a sudden we're too hot [meaning I'M too hot]...in the winter, when it gets down into the -20's, all of a sudden, it's too cold. We want our cake, and we want to eat it too.

What kind of society would we live in if we [meaning I] all were satisfied with life in general. Not so much the really bad stuff that happens, such as a relative suddenly having a fatal accident, or an earthquake that claims the life of many people...we all know that these things bring sorrows and regrets...but content with life in general. Why do we always 'need' more...why do we always 'need' better? A better car, a better house, a better job, a bigger bank account? I am probably more guilty than most. But I think if we were thankful for what we [I] got, then we would get more out of each day and be happier because of it. No matter how much you get, if you have that type of mindset, then there will never be a time that 'more' will be 'enough'. It will always be like the proverbial rabbit with the carrot on a stick, tied to his back and hanging out in front of him on a string, just out of reach. So close, yet so far... ALWAYS chasing, but never capturing.

It's time that I come to appreciate what I have, and if I obtain more in life, awesome! But if I don't get everything that I want, then I need to be at peace with myself and my life for the moment and not miss it, because I can only spend THIS moment ONCE...

Chew on that for a bit...
