Are you tired of all those gadgets you own, and would like to play around with something new? Well, just maybe you're looking for the Orbotix SPHERO Robotic Ball Gaming System and don't even know it yet.
Recently shown at the E3 2012 Game Convention, it was said to be 'one of the neatest pieces of gaming hardware...a tiny robotic ball that offers a near limitless number of options for play,' along with dozens of apps to enhance game play.
Piquing your interest? Got some spare cash or allowance money burning a hole through the pocket in your jeans? Then continue...
Some tidbits about the Sphere:
-You can control Sphero's movement via smartphone or tablet, which in essence acts like a glorified RC race car.
-The creators of Sphero claim that it can act as a controller for mobile games.
-The CEO of Orbotix, [Sphero's creator company] Paul Berberian, says that 'it's a device where you can spend 45 seconds playing with it and still get value out of the experience.'
Intrigued yet? I know I am!

TIRED OF Political Correctness? Here's a quick look into my tho'ts...
Political Correctness, how I hate thee...thou art the ruination and manipulation and infiltration of all that is and once was good and pure; thou destroyeth and teareth down those principles, rules and laws upon which all decency is established.
Thou art the bane of our youth...
And of the family values that have been held close to our collective hearts for generations. Decent citizens ponder as to why our world is no longer black, nor white, but an incapacitating shade of grey...
Political correctness, thou are the demon that shall consume and thus steal our souls and corrupt our minds...and I hate thee.
author: me
We don't need political correctness: we need those decent people who possess common sense and common courtesy and treat others how they themselves wish to be treated.

RE: GOVERNMENT GRANTS:
It seems I've hit a bit of a snag. As I attempted to copy and paste all of the info from the 'Gov't Grants' PDF, I soon realized that it was too big to paste here.
IF you still wants the info [it's over 500 pages in length], simply email me or message me on twitter and I'll email it to you.
Sorry about the glitch.

Taking It All For Granted
We, as a society, as the song says, 'don't know what you [we've] got 'til it's gone'.
Unless you're living in a third world country, or a region that is war-torn, do you/we realize exactly what we have.
[Relatively] clean, air, water, shelter, food...we are very fortunate. Very. And, pointing at myself, I take it for granted.
The most recent example is when I went to run hot water to do a sink full of dirty dishes. [Yes, I do the dishes] I turned the tap, and as usual, left my hand under the running water, waiting for the warmer water before beginning to fill the sink. I waited. And waited. And I waited some more. No hot water. Come to find out, the old hot water heater [21 years later] had given up the ghost. Yes, I was shocked when there was no hot water available.
We are simply lucky, and blessed, enough that we can enjoy these things. Perhaps we as a society can look at these not-so-fortunate countries and learn a thing or two: be thankful for what you have; I've seen some of their faces, and most times it doesn't take a whole lot to bring a smile to their faces. Let's live and learn.

Will the Truth turn out to be Stranger than Fiction?
Through the years we have seen or heard things that would make sci-fi movie blush with embarrassment. Some of our history seems like something from a movie, full of creativity and stretches of the imagination. Let's look at some things that could qualify to make a very entertaining script, all the while seeming that it could in fact be fictitious.
*Barack Obama's eligibility to be President of the USA.
The info that you will find regarding Obama could provide you with enough material to write a miniseries:
*Think Batman can glide? Check this out:
http://vimeo.com/15479617
*There exists an underground city, and it's here in America:[built in 1959, controlled by U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security]
Some also exist in Russia:
*Strange, but definitely true:
*Kind of gross, what's in the food you eat:
*Planet orbits 2 suns:
That's it for now...

Just Sitting Here Thinking...
It is normal [well, to me anyway] for there to be a constant 'buzz' in my brain, which varies content-wise.
I'm thinking about the Occupy situation, and what kind of effect it potentially may have. Does this movement, which in reality is still in its' infancy, have enough strength to actually accomplish its' goals? I would love to submit a resounding 'YES', but I'm not so sure. And if this isn't won by 'the people', then I foresee a horrible setback as far as 'we, the people' exercising our freedoms.
To me, is simply appears that there is too much stacked against Occupy. 'They' control the media, and the 'Patriot Act' is a nightmare. [if you are unfamiliar with what it entails, take a look: http://slate.me/wM0mDY http://bit.ly/y4cfHL http://bit.ly/xsDeks]
Enough on that...onto other stuff...
Year after year, at this time of the year, I wonder why commercial prices skyrocket to ubsurd sums. Oh, sorry, I'm referring to commercials aired during the Super Bowl. These ads will reportedly cost in the range of $3.5 million. Add the cost of filming and producing these commercials, and the cost could go as high as $5 million! Take a look at some of the upcoming Super Bowl commercials:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhkDdayA4iA
...and no, I DID NOT include David Beckham's underwear commercial...:P
Oh, and if you missed last year's 'The Force' commercial, you can see it here:
So, are they worth the fortune spent on them? You decide.
Moving on...
Now, I know I may be stepping on some toes, and may even offend, which is not my intention, but it would nonetheless be ironic, considering the subject matter. Political Correctness.
Just to let everyone know, I now prefer the term 'Canadian-Caucasian' when referring to myself. I just found 'white' to be too emotional.
Now, if your skin is thick and you are, shall we say, 'open-minded', you can check out this blog on the subject. http://pcwatch.blogspot.com/ On the other hand, if you are 'sensitive' to the topic, I would suggest avoiding it. I'm not saying that I agree with everything that is posted there, but it is thought provoking.
Oh, and please don't call me 'short'...I would prefer 'vertically challenged'...
See, I perceive that there is a difference between being 'politically correct' and being, as I'll put it, 'common sense correct'. Or 'ethical', which refers to being 'in conformance with justice or law or morality'...'morality' means 'virtuous conduct' or 'a system of ideas of right and wrong conduct'. Perhaps, just maybe, the farther we stray from 'In God We Trust', the worse our world will become.
The religious connotations are for another post.
I found the following comment interesting, and possibly thought-provoking, so I thought I'd share it:
American "liberals" often deny being Leftists and say that they are very different from the Communist rulers of other countries. The only real difference, however, is how much power they have. In America, their power is limited by democracy. To see what they WOULD be like with more power, look at where they ARE already very powerful: in America's educational system -- particularly in the universities and colleges. They show there the same respect for free-speech and political diversity that Stalin did: None. So look to the colleges to see what the whole country would be like if "liberals" had their way. It would be a dictatorship.
Also, if you happen to see me on this street, I would prefer that you would refer to me as 'stout'...it would make me feel better and less likely to suddenly burst out in tears.
This hypersensitivity is due to the fact that people draw unnecessary attention to something that wasn't intended to be derogatory or offensive in the first place. I would bet that we use words nowadays, that if this extreme susceptibility had been present a century ago, we would not even had seen or heard them nowadays. Without these mental allergic reactions, it is safe to say that our world would no doubt be a better place to live. That type of tension can only breed hatred and violence. That is one less thing that we would have to worry about. It is a needless distraction from all of the actual 'problems' that we have facing us in our world today.
I would also ask that you employ the term 'follicley challenged'...and please don't mention the smattering of grays that you see...I am heading toward that slope where I will be considered 'agedly challenged'...
Political correctness is also an attack on our freedoms, like it or not. You either want your freedoms to be able to be executed, or you don't. That is for you and you alone to decide.
Here's some side reading: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/are-we-too-politically-correct.html
'Til next time,
L8r
